our story

Along Came Meraki

Doing all things with love.

Just a girl and a love for art.

Ever since I can remember I have always enjoyed expressing myself artistically. Painting, drawing, and crafts were always things I could easily get lost in. My childhood was difficult and even at times traumatic... I used my creative outlets as an escape from all the bad things that often surrounded me.

My sewing journey began in the Spring of 2018. One day while pregnant with my first son I had put the idea in my head that I was going to sew something for the very first time for my daughter. After watching countless YouTube videos and tutorials I asked my best friend if I could borrow her antique sewing machine. That night I created a pair of floral knit leggings. Were they far from perfect? Yes. Did I succeed at the task at hand though? Also yes.. they were wearable!

Crafting something for my daughter and having the pleasure of knowing it was something I made for her immediately sparked my love for sewing. Not long after the leggings I created her first dress (the one you see pictured). At the time, we had a maternity shoot approaching as we prepared to welcome our baby boy into the world. Of course like any girl-mom, I wanted Ramsey to match me for these memorable moments. I ran to the craft store and grabbed a soft blue material, crochet lace, buttons, and a bottle of fabric dye. Yes, I even dyed the lace to match my gown.

I will forever be proud of the teeny little dress and bloomers I made for her in those moments. It was then that I knew I wanted to continue creating beautiful things and eventually share them with the world. Not only does this career choice allow me to share my new-found passion with others, more importantly it gives me the ability to support my three children and give them the life I wasn't able to have. For that I am utterly and indefinitely grateful.

Meet the Owner

Myranda Teal

Hey there! I'm Myranda, the creator behind Meraki. I began this business in 2018 with the hope that I would be able to support my children. I launched this brand with a full heart and continue to pour myself into this work every single day. If I told you it’s been an easy ride, I’d be lying. I’ve faced many difficult things, growing pains, and learning experiences. Blood, sweat, and tears... quite literally.. a few pricked fingers, many many hours of hard work, tears of exhaustion, but most importantly tears of rejoicing. But hey, that’s what it takes right? Trial and error and passion to perfect a craft!

If you’re an existing customer you know I have always signed cards, letters, or notes “Love always, ......”

Its more to me than just a phrase.

If you’ve ever wondered, Meraki means to put yourself into whatever your doing.. doing something with soul, creativity, and love! My #1 mission is to make this evident in everything I create and design. I will never be able to put into words what my heart feels knowing that someone has entrusted me with creating something so special for their child to treasure for years to come. This brand has truly given me purpose and the response has very greatly supported my family of 5. We are SO. THANKFUL. FOR YOU!

This brand is more than pretty dresses, it’s a community of mothers coming together and lifting each other up.. as we should do, who also just so happen to share a love of vintage styles and pretty things for their littles! It makes my heart so happy and full to see the kindness and encouragement expressed from you all! Lets continue to empower one another and do all things in love.

SHE BELIEVED SHE COULD,

SEW SHE DID.
